Its like he preparing me for his deployment.
For this visit he brought a Marine Corps running shirt, nametape bracelets, a hoodie and an extra set of his dog tags. We’ve got months until he leaves, but we both know it’s going to be like he’s gone in the blink of an eye. Hopefully we get a few more visits between now and then.

It’s so surreal.
Having him here. Being able to kiss him, hold his hand. I find myself watching him sleep just because I feel like I’m in a dream and I don’t want to miss anything. I’m such a sap, but I’m so happy right now.

Sometimes I wonder how she does it.
I can’t stand being away from Chris for months at a time, especially when I am worrying about his well being. But his mom has three sons. He is Marines, Mikey is Air Force and Ed is Navy. How in the world can she deal with that??
